Dr. Boukerrou is deeply committed to giving back to communities and has made service a cornerstone of his professional and personal life.
Throughout his career, he has dedicated his expertise in education, research, international development, project management, and capacity building to support organizations and initiatives that drive positive social and environmental impact. He has worked to strengthen institutions, empower local leaders, and promote sustainable solutions that create lasting benefits.
Equally important to him is mentoring and supporting the next generation. Dr. Boukerrou has a strong passion for helping students and young professionals, providing them with guidance, opportunities, and encouragement to pursue careers in science, technology, and entrepreneurship.
He helped people from all corners of the world, from Iowa to Florida, from Sub-Saharan African to Middle East and North Africa, and from Eastern to Western Eastern Europe. He believes in equipping people not only with skills but also with confidence to innovate, lead, and dream. His volunteering reflects his values of integrity, respect, and accountability, and his conviction that meaningful change begins with service to others.
He currently serves as President of the Algerian American Association for Science, Technology and Entrepreneurship (AAASTE) whose mission he is dedicated to.
