This white paper explores the role of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) which became essential actors in the global development ecosystem, contributing to humanitarian assistance, environmental protection, education, public health, governance, economic development, and community empowerment. It builds on the author’s experience with various NGOs in several countries to provide some insights and recommendations about the future role of NGOs.
